A summary of chinook and coho hatchery survival rates and trends will be presented followed by a review of ecological and oceanographic factors, new hatchery production and release strategies and the latest DFO experimental release strategies currently being conducted. A review of habitat restoration techniques constructed by DFO-RRD over the last 25 year will be presented along with a summary of lessons learned for side-channel development, water storage, estuary restoration, fishways, bank stabilization and riparian planting. The future outlook for habitat restoration in B.C. will also be discussed. |
